Art Department (2016)
A research branch of Node Center where we investigate experimental approaches to art that have significant impact on how we think, feel, or experience the world around us.
In mid-2016 we will launch ‘Art Department: Phase 1’ here on our website, where we will be sharing our ongoing exploration in a variety of digital formats created by invited guests, the Node team and open call submissions. Check full information here!
Innovators Program (2015)
We worked with ‘innovators’ from different fields (art, neuroscience, education, physics, etc) to research collaboratively on how working and thinking processes of artists can be used to create a learning tool for education. For further information, click here.
We noticed that formal education is often missing the practical tools needed for curators – from how to make a contract, assemble an art publication, write critically about art etc. Through an ever-expanding series of online courses, we aim to provide this practical knowledge that may not be available in many curators’ local contexts or not addressed by the art establishment and academy.
We want to give the richest learning experience for participants. Therefore we provide real-time interactive sessions with our lecturers as well as exercises and personalized feedback, so that participants can truly benefit from what is taught in the courses. Check our list of courses here!
Our Spanish online courses cover knowledge that may not be available in local contexts or that is often missing in formal art education. We have a variety of courses for artists and curators, from photography, programming languages for art, art marketing, how to make a portfolio, introduction to curating, art and activism, etc.
