Studio visits: Dane Mitchell, benandsebastian, Benten ClayFebruary 27, 2013
On Thursday we trekked across Berlin on an excursion to meet three different artists (well, one individual artist and two collaborative duos).
First up we visited Sassa Trülzsch to see Dane Mitchell’s current solo exhibition. Dane often works with invisible forces to create his pieces which included an installation determined by a wiccan witch and glass works whose forms were created by air blown into, then sucked out of the vessels. We highly recommend the show and its running until 13 April.
Then onto the fantastic LEAP to visit the studio of benandsebastian. Sebastian is currently sunning it up on the beach so Ben chatted with us about their recent exhibition ‘Phantom Limbs‘ at the Designmuseum Denmark. They are currently working on a publication following from this project to be launched 2014.
Finally we went to Benten Clay HQ to hear its CEOs Vera Hofmann and Sabine Schründer discuss their projects and research focussed on nuclear waste (in Finland) and power supplies (in Iceland).
A very enjoyable day and thank you to the artists for kindly hosting us.
