The secret life of NodeJune 22, 2016
Hello, this is Perla Montelongo, Director of Node Center.
You probably know Node Center for our online courses, but we have a hidden life that is pretty exciting and that we want to share with you.
I’m aware that we send a lot of emails promoting our courses – we’re very sorry about that – but from now on, we are refreshing our conversation and will send you instead a once per week newsletter sharing engaging content related to our research and current projects.
I invite you to try out our new newsletter format. You can always unsubscribe from it if you feel that the information is not interesting.
In the meantime, I would like to share with you some of our most recent projects and collaborations from the past months:
Last summer we created the Innovators Program, a fully funded program focused on research into how to implement artistic thinking in education. We invited 7 innovators from different fields to research together with us. Check the wrap-up of the program.
In autumn we traveled to Mexico to work with the Colegio Mexico high school in Tehuacán to test our pilot education program developed during the Innovators Program.
In winter we traveled to Tokyo for 2 months for a collaboration with Arts Initiative Tokyo. We gave a workshop on fictional uses of art and continued our research into creative thinking and education.
This spring we went to New York to start a collaboration with the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and Flux Factory. There we started an ongoing project to investigate the impact of art based on the experiences of many different people from all around the world.
Thanks for reading us, looking forward to sharing more of the behind the scenes of Node with you in the future.
