Valentines Studio Visits

February 14, 2013

Today was the first excursion of the first Nodes of 2013. We visited the art conservator, Katharina Haider, who explained how she cracked the mystery behind the construction of a damaged Juan Muñoz sculpture. She told us about her adventures couriering a huge Andy Warhol painting from Rome to Pittsburg (via Milan) and educated us on the particulars of packing and handling materials. She also baked some amazing cakes. This is one talented woman. Her website is here.

We then journeyed to the Grimmuseum to check out and debate the exhibition curated by 10 year old Cato J. Dibelius.

Finally, we visited Jaakko Pallasvuo in The Future Gallery who spoke about his work as one half of the collaborative duo ‘Oval Office‘. He also gave us an insight into his solo practice and  kindly provided a sneak preview of a new video piece. The Oval Office show is on at The Future Gallery until 2 March.
