Visits: Potsdamer Straße, Katarina Zdjelar and Benjamin Deboosere & Wouter de Raeve

June 21, 2013

35 degrees in Berlin! On Thursday morning we braved the sweltering streets to go on a gallery hop along Potsdamer Straße, visiting Tanya Leighton, Klosterfelde, Arndt, Blain|Southern and more.

In the afternoon we visited the current residents at the fantastic ABA (AIR Berlin Alexanderplatz), a place for artists, designers, curators, architects and writers to focus on research. First we met Katarina Zdjelar, leaving her studio with the Tears for Fears track Shout in our heads after watching her video ‘Shoum’. In the piece, two Serbian men who do not speak English, attempt to phonetically transcribe and decode the lyrics…this song will never be quite the same…Then onto Benjamin Deboosere & Wouter de Raeve who are working on a project that interrogates the current state and potential future of Tempelhofer Feld.
