*An event organized by Lian Ladia and the team of resident curators from Node Center.

Node Center for Curatorial Studies is pleased to present “Frank Prattle”, an interview style radio show/podcast run by the artist Zefrey Throwell to have a conversation-over-coffee with two Berlin curators and participants of the coming exhibition  “Based in Berlin”, Joep van Liefland (Autocenter) and Axel J. Wieder (Pro qm) at the Node Center of Curatorial Studies, Waldemarstr. 37A, Berlin-Kreuzberg on June 7, Tuesday at 12 pm.

The Frank Prattle radio style/blog hosted by the artist Zefrey Throwell has been documenting a good representation of the local contemporary art community in San Francisco and New York for the past years. Throwell throws people together (curators, artists, gallerists, critics) and has them discuss current trends and issues in art practice. It is geared primarily towards community education. The aim is to help people understand and enjoy the art world through the words of the artists and professionals who live it everyday.

Listen the conversation here:

Joep van Liefland is a Dutch multimedia artist who works in painting, drawing, video, and guerilla art.  He is also co-founder of  renowned independent exhibition space AUTOCENTER, an alternative art space founded in 2001 for art beyond the hierarchies of the art market.  AUTOCENTER is a fixture in the current Berlin art scene for producing the most insightful shows and presenting artists works (before their rise to the mainstream) since its inception.

Axel J. Wieder is the former artistic director or Künstlerhaus Stuttgart  and Co-founder of beloved experimental Berlin book shop, Pro qm. He is a curator and art historian who has organized exhibitions for the Berlin Biennial and KW Institute for contemporary art. Zefrey Throwell is an artist living and working in New York City. Investigating honest communication, in all its varied plumage, is his aim. Working with video, radio, painting and people he is exploring the connecting points and underpinnings of social discourse.  He runs Frank Prattle, an interview style radio show that has documented the current trends and art practices of artists, critics and curators in San Francisco and New York.
